For Gaza will be abandoned,And Ashkelon will become a desolation;The inhabitants of Ashdod will be driven out at noon,And Ekron will be uprooted.

Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast,The nation of the Cherethites!The word of the Lord is against you,Canaan, land of the Philistines;And I will eliminate youSo that there will be no inhabitant.

So the seacoast will become grazing places,With pastures for shepherds and folds for flocks.

And the coast will beFor the remnant of the house of Judah,They will drive sheep to pasture on it.In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening;For the Lord their God will care for themAnd restore their fortunes.

“I have heard the taunting of MoabAnd the abusive speech of the sons of Ammon,With which they have taunted My peopleAnd boasted against their territory.

Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of armies,The God of Israel,“Moab will assuredly be like Sodom,And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah—Ground overgrown with weeds and full of salt mines,And a permanent desolation.The remnant of My people will plunder them,And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.”

This they will have in return for their arrogance, because they have taunted and boasted against the people of the Lord of armies.

The Lord will be terrifying to them, for He will starve all the gods of the earth; and all the coastlands of the nations will bow down to Him, everyone from his own place.

“You also, Ethiopians, will be slain by My sword.”

And He will stretch out His hand against the northAnd eliminate Assyria,And He will make Nineveh a desolation,Parched like the wilderness.

Flocks will lie down in her midst,All animals that range in herds;Both the pelican and the hedgehogWill spend their nights in the tops of her pillars;Birds will sing in the window,Devastation will be on the threshold;For He has uncovered the cedar work.

This is the presumptuous cityThat dwells securely,Who says in her heart,“I am, and there is no one besides me.”How she has become a desolation,A resting place for animals!Everyone who passes by her will hissAnd wave his hand in contempt.

가사는 버림을 당하며 아스글론은 폐허가 되며 아스돗은 대낮에 쫓겨나며 에그론은 뽑히리라

해변 주민 그렛 족속에게 화 있을진저 블레셋 사람의 땅 가나안아 여호와의 말씀이 너희를 치나니 내가 너를 멸하여 주민이 없게 하리라

해변은 풀밭이 되어 목자의 움막과 양 떼의 우리가 거기에 있을 것이며

그 지경은 유다 족속의 남은 자에게로 돌아갈지라 그들이 거기에서 양 떼를 먹이고 저녁에는 아스글론 집들에 누우리니 이는 그들의 하나님 여호와가 그들을 보살피사 그들이 사로잡힘을 돌이킬 것임이라

내가 모압의 비방과 암몬 자손이 조롱하는 말을 들었나니 그들이 내 백성을 비방하고 자기들의 경계에 대하여 교만하였느니라

그들이 이런 일을 당할 것은 그들이 만군의 여호와의 백성에 대하여 교만하여졌음이라

여호와가 그들에게 두렵게 되어서 세상의 모든 신을 쇠약하게 하리니 이방의 모든 해변 사람들이 각각 자기 처소에서 여호와께 경배하리라

The Lord will be terrifying to them, for He will starve all the gods of the earth; and all the coastlands of the nations will bow down to Him, everyone from his own place.

구스 사람들아 너희도 내 칼에 죽임을 당하리라

“You also, Ethiopians, will be slain by My sword.”

여호와가 북쪽을 향하여 손을 펴서 앗수르를 멸하며 니느웨를 황폐하게 하여 사막 같이 메마르게 하리니

각종 짐승이 그 가운데에 떼로 누울 것이며 당아와 고슴도치가 그 기둥 꼭대기에 깃들이고 그것들이 창에서 울 것이며 문턱이 적막하리니 백향목으로 지은 것이 벗겨졌음이라
