Then he carved all the surrounding walls of the house with engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, for the inner and outer sanctuaries.

And he overlaid the floor of the house with gold, for the inner and outer sanctuaries.

And for the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of olive wood, the lintel, and five-sided doorposts.

So he made two doors of olive wood, and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold; and he overlaid the cherubim and the palm trees with gold.

So too he made for the entrance of the main room four-sided doorposts of olive wood,

and two doors of juniper wood; the two leaves of the one door turned on pivots, and the two leaves of the other door turned on pivots.

He carved on it cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold plated on the carved work.

And he built the inner courtyard with three rows of cut stone and a row of cedar beams.

In the fourth year the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid, in the month of Ziv.

And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, that is, the eighth month, the house was finished in all its parts and in accordance with all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.

내 외소 사방 벽에는 모두 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃 형상을 아로새겼고

내소에 들어가는 곳에는 감람나무로 문을 만들었는데 그 문인방과 문설주는 벽의 오분의 일이요

그 두 문짝은 잣나무라 이쪽 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었고 저쪽 문짝도 두 짝으로 접게 되었으며

그 문짝에 그룹들과 종려와 핀 꽃을 아로새기고 금으로 입히되 그 새긴 데에 맞게 하였고

또 다듬은 돌 세 켜와 백향목 두꺼운 판자 한 켜로 둘러 안뜰을 만들었더라

넷째 해 시브월에 여호와의 성전 기초를 쌓았고

열한째 해 불월 곧 여덟째 달에 그 설계와 식양대로 성전 건축이 다 끝났으니 솔로몬이 칠 년 동안 성전을 건축하였더라
