고린도전서 9:19

내가 모든 사람에게서 자유로우나

스스로 모든 사람에게 종이 된 것은

더 많은 사람을 얻고자 함이라

고린도전서 10:23~24

모든 것이 가하나 모든 것이 유익한 것은 아니요

모든 것이 가하나 모든 것이 덕을 세우는 것은 아니니

누구든지 자기의 유익을 구하지 말고 남의 유익을 구하라

고린도전서 13:2

내가 예언하는 능력이 있어 모든 비밀과 모든 지식을 알고

또 산을 옮길 만한 모든 믿음이 있을지라도

사랑이 없으면 내가 아무것도 아니요

그런즉 믿음, 소망, 사랑, 이 세 가지는 항상 있을 것인데

잠자는 자들의 첫 열매가 되셨도다

사망이 한 사람으로 말미암았으니
